JOB Overview:
The Manufacturing Controller assumes overall responsibility for financial management of the Company's manufacturing business units, which includes accounting oversight and financial planning and analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for the development and timely completion of the annual financial plan for manufacturing business units within the company. This includes but it is not limited to:
Develop and distribute all necessary forms to center managers.
Analyze and review all submissions by managers to ensure accuracy of the information for final submission to senior management.
Define and develop all operating standards that can be used for performance tracking during the plan year.
Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies, trends and increased profit possibilities.
Drive timeliness and accuracy in the financial planning, forecasting, reporting and audit process.
Manage month-end/year-end closing process for all cost centers and related balance sheet accounts, with a particular emphasis on inventory.
Review, analyze and report on monthly financial performance for all operations cost centers. This will include variances from plan for operating expenses and inventory variances.
Perform periodic reviews on internal controls, identify potential weaknesses and take the necessary preemptive steps to correct/improve the situation.
Oversee the management of projects for corporate special project initiatives from the Operations perspective.
Analyze capital expenditure requests, including P&L; impact analysis, DCF and return on investment.
Oversee development and maintenance of accounting systems and computer application systems to maintain appropriate records.
Guide financial decisions by establishing and communicating policies, procedures and internal controls.
Advanced computer literacy required with proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
Typically negotiates in a competitive or adversarial environment.
Typically expected to provide status reports to Executive Management.
Ability to travel to any location where the Company operates as the business needs dictate.
Ability to attend various meetings as requested with minimal advanced notice.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Minimum of 7 years related work experience, with at least 3 years in cost accounting.
Financial planning and analysis experience in a manufacturing organization, with experience in cost standards development, variance analysis and BOM.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including presentations, negotiation and influencing.
Advanced management skills, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, project management, delegation, and employee development.
Expert knowledge of accounting policies and practices.
Must be 18 years or older
Pass the drug test and physical exam
Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties.
